I'm a lecturer at the University of Manchester.
My main research interests are economic history, labor economics and development economics.
My research attempts to answer major puzzles in long-run world history.
I have won the Alexander Gerschenkron Prize for best dissertation in non US or Canadian
economic history from the Economic History Association for my research.
I grew up in the suburbs of London, before returning to Japan for college, studying for
my Ph.D. in Davis, California. I currently work in Manchester.
